BEFORE STARTING A COMMITTEE YOU WILL NEED...

A CLEAR STATEMENT OF PURPOSE,

In order for you committee to be successful, you will need to have clear stated purpose and reasonable set of goals. (You will include this in the proposal under the description section).

A WELL INFORMED LEADER,

The committee head must understand the success or failure (which can also be a valuable experience) of the committee rests squarely on his/her shoulders. The primary duty of the committee head is to guide the group’s discussions and committee as awhole. He/she should encourage every member to participate in the meetings and keep the discussion focused on the matter at hand.

AND DEDICATED MEMBERS.

Committee members should be carefully selected. These are the people who will help resolve issues for the committee which represents our entire organization. Members should be a diverse group while still remaining compatible. Try to recruit people with different perspectives and remind members that they should be receptive and open to new ideas and other people’s opinions.

Following these guidelines will have your committee on its way to success!
