What is CFHI?

CFHI is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that specializes in Global Health Education. The important nuances--CFHI's approach is unique. CFHI provides individual trainees and university partners with opportunities to learn about global health while embedded in existing health systems and social services sectors alongside local community members and champions. The context is so important in order to impart a broad-based understanding of the interplay between disease processes, social circumstances, poverty, resiliency, geopolitical realities, historical contexts, culture, and the complexities of health and wellness.

General Requirements to Join CFHI:

  • Anyone can join CFHI, however students must be an ACTIVE member for both Fall and Spring semester by obtaining at least a Basic Membership Tier.

  • Students must be willing to speak in a conference presentation about their experiences from the CFHI medical trip.

  • CFHI’s program is funded by ASUCM, therefore students must be able to finance their own plane tickets.

  • Students must fill out an application form that will be reviewed and voted on by the AMSA UCM Executive Board Members.
